I currently live in NYC. Can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger on moving to LV yet, but have been strongly considering it for a while.

Before I joined this forum I did a lot of lurking. And it was evident that the job market isn't the greatest in Las Vegas. But New York City isn't "easy" also, I have a masters degree and it took me a year to get my current job (which I hate).

What kind of work do you do?
You can start seeking employment via online websites and use your friend's parents Vegas home address as your own. Helps when you have local contact info when applying for Las Vegas jobs.

I completely understand and if i had a decent job that paid OK then I would try my best to stay in New York City. But fact of the matter is that my current salary isn't enough to pay for rent for a 1 bed room in a decent area. Everything about NYC is very expensive, a person really needs atleast 100k a year to live some what comfortable and i hate the cold lol

Well, here's a start. Get job hunting via the internet, fill out online applications. See if that wonderful education can be put to good use to help others! Don't skip ads for North Las Vegas and the City of Henderson...all are connected geograhically to Las Vegas, literally, you can drive up one street and you're in Las Vegas and drive two streets over from that and you're in Henderson or North Las Vegas.
