Has anyone signed up for this service? What has been your experience with it? It seems like a good public service for residents at no cost.

Signed up myself. By the looks of it this is where sex offenders go to die. Before anyone gets mad, that was a joke!

For what it's worth ─ paranoia strikes deep. Into your life it will creep. It starts when you're always afraid.

I'm leery of neighbors watching neighbors. It's a short leap from neighborhood block captains of the neighborhood watch program, to the neighborhood block captains of communist dictatorships that search your shopping bags, and report everything you do, or don't do, to the commissars ...or the HOA. We had a few of those in our gated community. Thank goodness they're gone.

That website doesn't really say anything. It's all a generality. Nothing is explained, it's left to you to imagine what it is they do. I'm also leery of what they aren't saying.

Yes we got it a year ago and I find it most informative, I pass it along to my clients to use as well. I feel it's better to know what's going on versus putting my head in the sand.

I signed up about a month ago and it's been a great tool for me to stay in contact with my neighbors about what's going on in our community. It's great because you can customize the notifications and the information is updated every 15 minutes from the police and other public safety departments. There really is no tool out there like this.

here are two links from this weeks Sun and RJ. It's actually being used by large events like Nascar and was sued during the Reno fires....
