There was one of those lobster catching games on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon put it in a restaurant (In Manhattan I think) and after he left the owner sold it.

Downtown is dying a slow painful death. Nobody goes there anymore. All the action is on the strip now. They built this canvass thingy that shows music videos over Fremont St and that brings in some traffic as well as the old fashioned bright neon signs you don't see on the strip much but it is still on life support. Nobody stays there unless there is a major show and no other place for them to stay.

If you read some of their other posts I wonder if they have ever been here at all.

This person could not be more out of touch with reality, Downtown is where a lot of us locals go to hang out. A good high school friend of mine is a big gambler and gets comped free rooms at MGM and has been coming to Vegas for years, he paid to stay downtown last trip and threw away his MGM player's card. The last time he stayed there he said he was treated so bad by the casino staff that he would rather pay for a room and get treated like his business is appreciated. The prices are better downtown, the dealers, waitresses, and pit bosses have a better attitude at most of the casinos vs the big strip casinos. It is a fun place to have some drinks and play some low minimum table games and you can still sit down and get a prim rib dinner for 10 bucks.

I definately agree. Downtown was the best part of my trip there and I will be staying there next time around (in 3 weeks! WOO!). One of the first things I discovered was $2 Coronas. About 1/4 what I would have paid on the strip.

It's run like a players club.... Silver, gold, platinum, and raven levels. So far, this one is at the high end of the gold level

Downtown is the best! Not only will your money go further downtown, you can also walk most of Fremont street without having to cross busy streets and become more Strip roadkill.
How can downtown be dying a slow and painful death? They have live music most of the time. Zip lines so you can fly. Binions just recently opened their new bar in front of their casino complete with scantily clad bartenders. Any time we have been downtown, day or night, it's never dead down there. Always crowded. I just wonder if BruinRick had a dream once where he found himself wandering downtown and looked down and realized he was naked. Then he woke up. Yeah, that could scare you awake.
