And New York-New York, which is right across the street on the same corner isn't an out of place cartoon?

Just saying, not really understanding your logic.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks the original Echelon plans should be scrapped and that they should just revive the Stardust? While more construction work is a good thing period, I'd be far more interested in seeing something like that!

NYNY is more of a replica of a real thing. I guess it gets more respect? I don't hate the Excalibur, I just don't find it interesting, myself. It's ok.

My "logic" is the Excalibur looks like something out of a Disney movie with the red and blue rooftops. Like something that belongs in a children's amusement park, like a cartoon, as I said. NYNY, while not a fave of mine either, fits in more with the rest of the properties on that end. I guess if someone like Harry Potter or Cinderella they might feel at home at Excalibur. I think a castle could have been done better, perhaps making it look more like a real castle as opposed to one out of a fairy tale.

I think that it was built during the era where LV was trying to market itself as a "family destination". Lots of kids (the ones that are age 12 and under.)

I think a "real" castle replica would have been cool. They could have a Ren Faire year round! LOL

I dont get these debates about design and all. Everything works in Vegas and that is why so much exists. What one prefers is probably out there to some degree. Many wont step foot into Excalibur or Circus Circus and yet still they get plenty of foot traffic.

I imagine for a lot of people they see them just to see them. They have seen them on TV or whatever and just want to go inside.

Everyone has different tastes of what works and what doesn't. Some just work better and some worse than others.
