Thinking about Vegas for awhile. In the midwest too long now. So boring.

Anything with a nice (or even decent) view of the strip between 800-1200 per month? I know there won't be anything for this price range on the strip, but close enough would work.

I liked the Ogden (some of the smaller units are in my range), but would prefer it if were closer to the Strip.

Walking distance preferred, or short cab ride. Looking online, not finding much.

I also like how Vegas is close to LA.

Yes, you would live 1/2 mile from the strip.

Very nice.

I keep hearing how Vegas' economy is bad, the town is so underemployed/unemployed...how true is this?

There seems to be no shortage of high-end apartments, and I know visitors aren't occupying the majority of them.

Also, Vegas is my kind of town. I'm a guy who appreciates strip clubs, strippers, gambling, clubs, international dj's, parties with strippers, booze, big screen TV's, cuban cigars, and general flashiness.

I'm in my late 20s now, always been a fan of Vegas. I also like how you don't feel the same level of government intrusion in Vegas do in other places. It's as "live and let live" as it gets. Doesn't seem overran by left vs right politics as well.

Vegas Towers are in a crap neighborhood that are extremely overpriced at over $900 a month and do not even have a washer and dryer in the unit. I have been in them, and they are no nicer than my apartment (which does have a washer and dryer) that costs $415 a month LOL.

The economy here sucks, but if you have skills that are in demand you will be ok.

415 for a decent place? What part of Vegas is this?

Also...I've typically worked in sales environments and am tired of it. Is everything in Vegas really centered around shuffling cards? I can do that very well.

Anything in demand there other that casinos?

My apartment is very nice, but I will not lie as it is also in a bad area. Swenson and Sierra Vista is where I live. It is a little under a 2 mile walk from the strip. I was not recommending you live where I do. You would be much better off in the Meridian. I would live there if I could afford it.
