why do you need hotel deals if you are locals (i.e. already live in Vegas)?

My wife and I do this about twice a year. Why let the tourists have all the fun. Plus it is much cheaper if you wait for certain local specials to be announced. We stayed at a suite in Red Rock for about $50 2 years ago. MGM Signature Suite for less than $100 on a weekend.

We use all those promotional codes floating around that everyone ignores also.

Now a lot of promo codes are being posted on Facebook for all casino properties. For locals only with local ID during the weekdays.

They advertise locals' deals in newspapers, etc.; but you can sign up for email from most casinos and they'll send you offers.

Scott546, locals' deals usually means a 2-fer for shows, dinner, etc.; but locals do like to stay on the Strip from time to time so they can partee and not have to drive home after having a few drinks and/or staying out late. Avoiding tourist traffic is another reason.

That's Labor Day weekend, which probably means you'll be less likely to find a good deal. It's crowded here then. But good luck with your search.
