Are the major shows cheapest seats worth the price or are you just to far away to enjoy the show? Isn't there a locals discount website for major shows? Any other sources of good deals on shows? Thanks!

It depends. We attended a Red Skelton Tribute Show at the Westin. It was held in a small room and you were very close to the show.

There are a LOT of discount ticket places in Las Vegas as well as Goldstarevents.com where you can get cheap tickets. Just don't expect large discounts on the most popular productions.

We bought 3 of the cheapest balcony tickets direct from the show box office on the phone in the afternoon and when we got there and picked them up we went up to the balcony. The older lady that was seating everyone just asked us if we'd like a free upgrade as there were some vacant seats. The 3 of us girls (about the same age as her) said YES, for sure, and she moved us 6 rows centre from the stage of Jersey Boys at the Palazzo when it was running there. We were joking with her when we got up to the balcony where she greeted us to look at our tickets that we'd probably get a nose bleed and did she have any extra kleenex to hand out to the people up there. It was an awesome show!

That happened to us at Jersey Boys too. Not the first time either. But it depends on the showroom. Most seats in most showrooms are good no matter where they are. In places like the MGM Grand Garden Arena you'll be watching the big screen instead of the stage in the cheap seats, but at least the music is live. IMO, all the seats in that venue are bad ones. We went to see Memphis at the Smith and were commenting on how uncomfortable the seats were, especially compared to most hotel showrooms. But all the seats have good view of the stage. Many venues let you choose the seats you want, within limits of course.

With the exception of the big venues like the MGM Garden Arena and the Mandalay Bay Event Center, it's hard to find a "bad" seat. Some are better than others. But the worst seat at a venue like the Pearl at the Palms is still pretty good.
