Check out the bakery a few doors down in the same complex as 168, good pastries, Wendy's Noodle Cafe is good too.

Yes, L'elysee is a French-Vietnamese bakery. Good croissants. They got screwed by 168 putting in a less-expensive Asian bakery in their market. Many of the same products for less. But the quality is better at L'elysee.

But the Russian market in the same plaza has better bread -- some of the best in the valley. The Russians are the best bakers in the world.

I will check it out one of these days, not really into bread but I'll check their other products. If you want another great bakery, La Belle Terre on West Sahara is good, easier to spot their bigger sign on the facade of the building, French Bakery and Cafe. Love the food and pastries at this restaurant.

Cheaper than Albertson's. (Wish we had a "rimshot" emoticon.)

I'll just add one. :rimshot:

Seems it's baked by a place on far west Flamingo now instead of in-house, but still fresh daily and UNBELIEVABLE.

Flour, water, salt, yeast. The only recipe I like for my bread, yet in the valley, it's harder to come by than a good driver.

The establishment is Manan Bakery and it's on West Flamingo and Torrey Pines in Spring Valley.

I was at Manan Bakery earlier this afternoon. I was craving for some sweets so I decided to drop by the bakery.
