Dude...you should marry her...before she gets away!

The Venetian and the New Palazzo (coming 12/28) are NON-UNION. Back of the house starts at about 13.25. Other position pay very well. Front desk, for example, starts at 15.75 and then bumps to 16.95 after 3 months. Free meals for team members (2 per day) and FREE, thats right, FREE health care. Sounds like a good deal to me. My fiance turned down management at LLV to work there and loves it. She does not regret it at all. She is seriously making more with better benefits at the Venezia Tower as a shift manager that she would have at LLV as a department head.

To the OP, look for a non-union property and they can be better. The Venetian is my recomendation. The Palazzo needs people and they are hiring. The money is good too.

Thanks for the tip Cj.

As for the other question, we're moving to Vegas because that's where her parents are moving. It was a choice between Vegas or LA, because my girlfriend wants to live somewhere familiar, and she's lived in both cities. We chose Vegas because of how poor the market. Means we can get a nicer place cheaper.

heh. And yes, we plan on getting married. We've been dating two years now.

Okay so the info I got here leads me to another question. Or rather, a two part question.

A) Do I have to join a union?
B) Is there any benefit to joining a union?

A) depends on the property. Some yes and some no. And for some of them that the answer is no, you will not get any benefits without joining. With a few exceptions.

B) Not in my opinion. Unions are nowhere near as strong as they used to be. They just do not carry weight with the corporations anymore. Besides, a lot of company offer better benefits than the unions can.

Thanks again CJ. I will keep that in mind. For now I think I'll shoot for the Palazzo if they're still hiring when I get there.

They are looking for thousands of people. Seriously, thousands still. Soft opening isn't until late this month and grand opening next month so you should be fine. By the time february rolls around, they will have weeded out some of the not-so-desirables and will be ready for another round of mass hirings.

And how hard it might be to find a job in those areas?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I worked at the bellagio as a security officer the employees at the front desk start out at 15.30 per hour and get cost of living increases every year. Most big hotels on the strip are union and pay around 15.00 per hour. most of your small hotels off the strip pay 8 or 9 an hour or less. its hard to get front desk jobs on the strip so apply for housekeeping our public cleaning to get your foot in the door if thats what you want to do.

I also have a second job online that nets me 300 a month.

But it's good to know I'll be making more than what I'm making here. Thanks for the info.

Just curios I'm looking to make some extra money on-line what do you do to make that? I know it’s not on the subject of this post.
