They don't "feel" anything. They have worked it out to revenue generated per minute, per square foot, and per head count -- and they don't like the numbers.

The new arena at The Plaza will seat 3500, about half what Orleans arena holds. That will help out attendance numbers as far as attendees vs. capacity. I'm wondering how ticket prices will be affected.

Exactly. Problem is what the casinos want is often at odds with what the residents want. No doubt people make the choice to make peace or play with the casinos when they live in Nevada, but its pathetic to think the casinos make for good neighbors in the community. They want people from outside the state to come in and spend money and will speak out against anything which gets in their way, locals be damned. Having to give a hockey team 10 weekends a year is getting into the way for the Orleans.

I am very happy the Wranglers did find something amenable. Its a second rate solution, but better than having them be the San Diego Wranglers. Problem is now you'll hear the hordes tell you see don't spend any money on a sports or community arena/facility, or heck just about anything, they can pay for their own stuff. Sure they can build tents with bleachers over lightly used parts of the city and call it good. Lets see the 51s do that, their horrible locker rooms and fan facilities can be solved by building a bunch of tents around Cashman Field. Lets see the Rebels play football in a high-end tent, just put it over a high school stadium as they don't get many more people to attend games anyways.

Those would be Las Vegas being Las Vegas.
