I'd like to bring my 2 chihuahuas for a little vacation.

Do they charge extra and are there strict rules?

You can't leave a dog in the room alone, right?

PetStay Las Vegas - Rolling out the red carpet for traveling dogs.

Surprisingly, the policy allows the pet to stay in the room unattended, as long as it is crated or in a kennel.

This is pretty much unique to Vegas. I think that they don't want to force owners to stay in their rooms with their dogs when they could be out gambling.

Other cities, the rule is usually not to leave them alone in the room.

Motel 6 nationwide is pet friendly, with no extra fees. IME all other hotels that allow dogs charge per pet per night, sometimes as much as an extra $30 per dog.

The amount of extras you will pay in fees, plus the fact your dogs will be miserable if left alone in a crate all day IMHO is not worth it. Leave them at a doggie day care where someone will be with them 24/7 if you care that much.

And no, you cannot walk around the casino & hotel with them. You can go from your room to the outside and that is it.

I agree totally!

I can see someone on a vacation who is on a road trip to many places having their dog with them while they stop in Vegas for a day or two but bringing your pet specifically to Vegas to sit in a hotel room alone just seems silly to me.
How much time are you planning to actually stay in your room?
For most people visiting the answer would be "not much".
