I've been here for little over a month.

Curious to building a new house.

How is the Calico Ridge area? What's your take? Up and coming or stay away?

Zoned schools are terrible. Most consider it a bit remote, Albertsons on Boulder Highway/Lake Mead is the closest grocery store and is probably 10 minutes away. You're a solid 15 minutes away from the 95/215 freeway.

The area is predominately older homes now. I'd avoid it.

If you want to build a home in Henderson outside of a gated community I'd recommend Mission Hills area.

In addition to what Jeff said...

It's also abutting the old BMI waste dump. It's up a hill from it, so it might not be that bad, but I still wouldn't want to go anywhere near that thing.

On the flip side, they do have great views of the city from there.

To another of Jeff's points, I think it was developed in the '90;s, I find it hilarious that out there a circa '90's house is considered old.

Are you kidding? That's ancient! A circa 2000s house is considered "old"

In Vegas years.

I grew up in a house built in 1952. And that was not considered that old where I came from.
