Just recently moved here, need a new gym. More into free weights. Seems like every gym is geared for cardio bunnies

Unless one of your reasons for joining a gym is social or simply to get out of the house, why not consider one of those video programs from Beachbody like Insanity, P90X2, or Focus T25? You'll save money in the long run and probably will get a better workout. Lots of programs to choose from. Most demonstrate a modification of the moves for those who need to. Most important, these programs work (if you follow the plan). Just a thought.....

Its a joy to hit the free weights for me. And its nice to get out of the house. A cheap hobby and a good way to vent my frustration.

Cheaper than going to the Strip...

As someone that is a runner, does CF (bodyweight as you allude to...or it can be at least), etc...your post does nothing to assist the OP. They aren't a couch potato that is taking baby steps, but is already someone that enjoys an active lifestyle. Sooo...

I use the Student Rec & Wellness Center on UNLV when I'm not doing the above mentioned events. If you aren't an employee or a student there, that is going to be out, though. The different LVACs are very popular, but I do caution you that not all are the same so depending on location to your work / home, tour appropriately. There are older school venues out there, but I'm just not familiar with them enough to assist

Anyone ever use 24 hour fitness? They have a pretty good deal at Costco for a 2 year membership, however I'm not sure if it's a decent gym (Costco has two options, one for Sport at $350ish, the other for SuperSport at ~$650...both are 2 year plans)

I saw a place near Charleston & Main that looked like a total muscle head gym. Exact address eludes me. It was pretty close to where they hold first Friday though.

Best gym in my opinion has gotta be the Stirling Club at Turnberry.

Probably not that 'accessible' but nonetheless, worth looking into, and easily one of the best.
