Default HS diploma

in all the years ive applied at low-end service type positions ; one things for certain : while they all ASK if you graduated HS, positively *none* will take the trouble to verify this; NOR DO THEY ASK FOR A COPY of your diploma

just check the box...."yes". find a high school that actually exists and say you graduated.

i know folks w/ college degrees that can't spell or articulate worth a damn. i dont think just bc your grammar is poor that it'll be assumed you didnt finish highschool

The point was that you won't pass the interview if communicating effectively is a glaring opportunity.

Wanna bet? Integrity Staffing. (Amazon) requires a copy it. My employer calls the school.

The following article was published 2012, it says the fastest growing jobs in Nevada require no degrees and are:
Retail salespeople, waitresses and waitresses, cashiers and gaming dealers
Nevada's fastest-growing jobs require no degrees | Las Vegas Review-Journal
Actually Clark County is now at 6.8%. That is still above the national average but not by a large amount.

We need a new line. Employment in Las Vegas has now pretty much reached normal levels so I think we now respond that employment is pretty much the same as any of the large cities.

An eighteen year old without a HS diploma is going to have trouble getting a reasonable job. True here and virtually anywhere. Well maybe do OK in North Dakota....or Elko.

What about for a 55 year old real estate broker looking for something to keep him out of trouble part time? Moving there in April and just want to stay busy but not commit to a 40 hour a week schedule.

Depends... If retail is an option, I don't think you'd have an issue. 2 of my customer service associates are 64 and 72

Sell Real Estate. You can pretty much control how much you work. And if you know your way around the industry it helps. NY is vastly different though...so your probably need to get brainwashed.

Thanks! Yes I have thought about that....as a broker for 20 years I know my way around and my license will transfer with minimal requirements. Just wasn't sure how the market would be for another broker. From what I read there are ALOT of agents in the LV market. Something I will look into though, thanks again!
