I have a 12x12 corner section of patio I would like removed so I can do additional landscaping...patio is just needlessly large for size of the yard.

Has anyone had something like this done and what were the costs involved. It's a corner section bordered by the walls on two sides and more patio on the other two sides.

It's not part of the slab, right?

Just rent a jack hammer and break it into manageable pieces. If removing a only a section of the patio is the goal, you'll also need a chalk line and a concrete saw, which is located right next to the jack hammer at the big tool rental store.

There is an expansion joint so I don't think it is part of the slab.
Thanks for the suggestion to do it myself but not willing to take that much on myself.

Generally does not need a jackhammer. Just a guy with a sledge hammer. You use a jackhammer if it is reinforced or thick. Otherwise just whack it.
