Like I said, you can only get a glimpse. At least I can from our SUV. But that's why they built a parking lot at the end of the bridge on the NV side for people to stop and see the dam.

To the OP, U.S. 93/95 is not a freeway outside of town.

I have been advocating an Interstate highway between Phoenix and Reno, through Las Vegas, of course, for about 50 years. They finally took my advice.

I'm old enough to remember all the white crosses along that road back when the AZ transportation department used to mark highway fatalities that way.
Why I've always hated to drive to Phoenix. Making it easier for tourists from Phoenix is only one reason; and it also picks up travelers along I-10 going to LA. Many of them would make a detour to Las Vegas if it were easier for them. Besides, gaming isn't the only business that people conduct here, or in Phoenix. (highways go in both directions don't forget). It will eventually be connected to Reno also, which means getting up to the State Capitol in Carson City will be easier, and probably safer. It would also open up San Francisco to all of us. I'd guess that people in Reno would like to come down here once in a while too, although they hate us; while most people in Las Vegas are only vaguely aware there is a Reno, which is a shame. It's a really nice city with really nice surroundings. In this house, we'd probably go to both Reno and Phoenix much more often if there was a freeway. Probably visit San Francisco too, by car. And I'll have to check a map, but we love Carmel, and I think a freeway from here might put us closer to it.

I hate using wilderness land for freeways, but I believe in communication more, and a freeway is a means of communication between cities. An Interstate freeway between I-10, I-15, and I-80 would open up a lot of communication (and business) possibilities.

From wiki

I-11 is projected to serve as an Intermountain West part of the US's long-term CANAMEX Corridor transportation plans, with potential extensions south from Casa Grande to the Sonoran border, and north from Las Vegas through northern Nevada (potentially passing through Reno or Elko) and onward through either eastern Oregon/Washington or western Idaho before terminating at the Canadian border.[3] Feasibility studies for these corridor extensions began in July 2013.
