Hello All,

I know that some of you have had some interactions with cardiologists and I'm wondering if you would mind sharing a referral. I believe I probably need to see someone but don't know who. Thanks!

We just moved here from California. My husband has congestive heart failure and his cardiologist is in Pasadena. Any recommendation on a good cardiologist in LV. Thanks !

Nevada Cardiology Associates. Believe me when I say the have saved my life more than once. My cardiologist/electro physiologist (installed my defibrillator/pacemaker) who I see most of the time now, is Dr. Robert Baker, and he is across the street from Sunrise Hosp. I also see on this side of town (NW), Dr Navid Kazemi. His office is the building attached to Mountain View Hosp. Two of the best in town. For the lady whose husband has CHF, he should probably see Dr. Baker. For the OP, if you already think you "probably" need a doctor, you should have been there all ready. Start with Dr. Kazemi.

Thank you Buzz, you are right. My thoughts of "probably" have been a couple of days of sensations/pain in that area, so I'm on this today!

Kay, maybe someone should drive you to the ER. Don't risk it.

Do yourself a favor and find one in LA, California, if it is serious. Otherwise, go to Carlos Fonte, MD, he is very good, and is my cardiologist out here.

My cardiologists at the NW office of NCA got me an appointment with a guy at Cedars Sinai in Beverley Hills. My wife and I had seen him on a PBS special researching why people in a town in Italy never had heart problems. So were kind of excited. Before I went to see him, I had had 20 shocks from my defibrillator in one day. His diagnosis - I wasn't sick enough for him to do anything since I didn't need a heart transplant. He said the reason for all the shocks was because I'd had an electrical storm in my heart due to just having had the implant put in. He put me on one more prescription.

When I told all this to my EP, Dr. Baker, he said that researchers don't see enough patients, and that every one of the shocks I'd gotten were valid. It was no electrical storm. I'll trust Dr. Baker, although Cedars Sinai might have more bells and whistles than the local hospitals do. But, Sunrise is the most fully equipped for heart problems.

One year ago I was in Sunrise for pneumonia for two weeks. One unforgettable night I found myself surrounded by Dr. Baker and other Dr's and nurses, and I was freaking out. He spoke to me about calming down because he was there for me, and I think I did. Later I apologized for freaking out, but said I was sure I was dying. He simply said, "You were dying." The man saved my life and he didn't really have to be there.
