And teachers are always complaining about their pay. My Dad's pension was not that much after 40 years with the federal government. I haven't made this much actively working, but I'm sure you earned it - not an easy job. I just have to take it with a grain of salt when the teacher's unions start complaining about their pay.

Surprises me too. I wouldn't live in Vegas if I didn't make over 100k, but I can afford to live elsewhere. These people making 20-30k probably have a limited choice in where they can live.

Benies too or just base salary?

I had 3 jobs in Vegas in the year that I was living there full time (2012-13):

Sys Admin/Installer for Bally, installing the back end servers that support their slot machines and player tracking stuff all around the world. That was 80K/year base salary.

Cloud Operatons Engineer for VMware building what would ultimately become their vCloud Hybrid Service infrastructure inside of Switch. That was 90K/year base salary.

Sys Admin for IGT pretty much doing the same thing I did for Bally at $75K/year base salary.

All included annual bonuses though. VMware also included RSUs. Because of how long I stuck around at each job, I only got a bonus from VMware. The was 10%.
