My wife and I haven't been to Lotus of Siam in awhile. So we went last weekend. In the same general area is a place I haven't visited -- The Cornish Pasty Co. (They've been open a year. But I haven't heard anything about it. That's odd because usually I'm "in the loop" when it comes to new restaurants.)

This comes very close to what I consider a decent pub. It doesn't have EVERYTHING I want. (No darts or snooker.) But it has most of what I want -- good beer, no video poker, no smoking, and excellent Cornish pasties and other UK comfort food. It's not a big place. But what they do they do very well. And the prices are right for what you get. $10 for a 20 oz Firestone IPA. That's about right for a pub. A real-deal pasty is $8. And one is a nice appetizer for two.

I'll post some pictures next time I visit, which I intend to be very soon.

900 block of Sahara, same area as Onyx, Green Door and Lotus.

I used to love the ploughman's lunch. It was that homemade cheese!

So you really do care about no-smoking.

Anyways, I've been looking for a smokeless bar for awhile! Thanks buddy.

What the hell is a pasty? It's driving me crazy seeing that word. It looks wrong. Is it "pastry"?
It's causing physical discomfort.

Wow I did not realize there was a pasty shop in Vegas. I will not have to stock up from the pasty kitchen in Los Alamitos anymore.

Cheers for the Info.

Thanks !
I don't see sausage rolls on their menu so I'll have to keep picking up a supply when I'm in Seattle. But a pasty might be a good substitute. Will definitely give this place a try.

It's a meat pie. My favorite is a beef and kidney pasty. This is a pasty:
