I'm 67 years old living in a Senior Community in the Spring Valley area. I am not disabled or wheel chair bound.

Although I'm able to walk without a cane or walker, I would have some difficulty making the 2 mile round trip journey to the nearest grocery store by foot.

Would it be legal for me to use a senior mobility scooter (travelling on the sidewalks) to get to the grocery store and back?

If not illegal, would it be unethical since I am not technically disabled?

Believe me, I have seen MORE people in Las Vegas abuse ADA privileges.
Get the scooter, ENJOY LIFE!

I've seen many people with scooters on sidewalks in Spring Valley and other areas of the valley. If it helps you get where you are going, I don't see a problem with it.

By all means use the sidewalk stay out of the road you do not know how many times I have seen motorized wheel chairs in the middle of traffic or in the right hand lane on streets where the speed limit is 45 mph. The scooters are bad enough and us drivers only have one set of eyes.

These scooters are for people who have difficulty walking, like you.

The OP doesn't have to get a bike, the scooter on the sidewalks is perfectly legal. One doesn't have to be certified as disabled by anyone to use one of those. And it would be a lot safer than a bike ridden in the street, assuming the OP is able to ride one that far, if strength and endurance are issues.
