I just wanted to say that anyone is looking to move to the Las Vegas region, or is in the Las Vegas valley and has a student with special needs(i.e. Autism, Downs Syndrome), there is a great school in Las Vegas called New Horizons Academy, an accredited special needs school. We have had our grandson attend here for many years, and it was the best school environment. We were amazed at how our grandson's social skills improved, and how much better he was getting academically. The staff were also some of the most professional I have ever met(and I've been to quite a few schools).
I figured I would pass this along, and put this in here, since I know how prevalent Autism is in our world today. I talked to other parents who were there who said, "we had no idea this place even existed here in Las Vegas." Apparently they have been around for awhile now.
I just wanted to pass along this information to any of you parents with special needs children in Clark County, or to friends and family who have children with unique learning styles. This environment was the best for our grandson, and he grew leaps and bounds both academically and socially. When we use to ask him how his day was prior to attending this school he would never say much other than, "it was ok". After attending this school for 2 weeks he would come home and share so much information, and was truly happy.

Here is there website, for those interested.

This might be a good addition to the sticky "moving to Las Vegas" thread because I've seen this question come up several times.
