I live in Sunrise Manor, in Las Vegas NV.
For about 3 weeks, someone in my neighborhood, is burning wood in the fireplace. It is very difficult to breathe for me.
I would like to know if there may be something I can do about it?
If so, with whom I have to get in touch.

Thanks already in advance. My lungs will thank you too.

As I understand it, new wood burning fireplaces cannot be built, but old ones are OK. Additionally, outside fire pits are OK to burn wood in.

I doubt there is much you can do from a legal/code enforcement perspective. Perhaps you can find the person and ask them if they would quit burning wood.

Realistically your best bet is to visit the doctor and see what they can do. Expecting a world with zero wood burning is not realistic. I quite often see/smell wood burning indoor and outdoor fireplaces/pits in my neighborhood.

Outdoor fire pit. We use one all winter to toast marshmallows with the kids on the weekends. Unless it's an older home in your hood, no new homes have been built with wood burning fireplaces in quite some time.

One of our favorite activities is sitting around the fire pit during cool weather, drinking our favorite beverages and just chatting

I imagine in LV wood is scarce. Do you have to buy it at Home Depot? Sorry, I really don't know. Still living on Long Island, wood is so abundant on my wooded acre I never ever given thought about buying it. But when we move we'll most certainly have an outdoor pit because nothing beats a fire to sit around at night when it's cool.

So what does a 1/2 a cord go for?

I'm a cheapskate. I got most of my wood from tree trimmers I happen to come across. I don't burn huge amounts of wood so it lasts quite awhile.

Plenty of wood available. About three hours away in Pioche they have a big fire burn area that people harvest (and then sell) wood from. I've bought wood a couple times from Craigslist, people who have cut down huge trees or whatnot.

1/2 cord is around $150 you haul.
