Listen.... No howling winds with bone rattling cold whewwwwww whewwwww. I don't miss it or want any part of it. In Vegas we get a mild winter and a hot spring/summer. Other states get a cold winter and in many cases a humid summer. That humidity can be brutal.

Humidity can be brutal, for sure, but I would rather be sticky and hot than cold and in pain.

I do feel a little cold at times, but then I put on gloves and a scarf. This cold is really nothing. My favorite daily routine change this time of year is that I don't feel like I have to get up really early, do errands, and be in the ac by noon. It's nice not to be running that all the time. So much money saved...

I can aways put more clothes on butt I can only get so naked. (waves to Lotus11:-) ) I only turn the heat on a few times a year but the AC runs about 8-12 hours a day during the Summer. Last week I left the back sliding door open all night (by accident) and it was nippy in the morning. Had an Irish coffee to compensate. :-)

I don't hate the Summer heat (love how fast stuff dries - yeah I'm weird) and Spring / Fall are glorious - windows open almost all the time. Honestly, I run the AC more for computers than for me. I grew up in a ~tropical environ. but also spent several years in the NorthEast.

You know it is "cold" in Vegas when ice on the ground is still there in the afternoon, like sprinkler runoff in curb shadow.

I've heard several people do this. How can you turn your heat on only a "few" times a season? I'm sure having a good insulated home helps, but if I did that my house would be in the 40's all winter. Especially this winter, when my outdoor thermostat has read in the upper 20's and low 30's for the last several weeks.

Do you people keep your homes in the 40's and 50's all the time? I'm not trying to be funny, I really want to know.
