Don't forget that the U.S. is a cheap vacation for Europeans right now, and the worse our economy becomes, the better it is for them. It is also becoming a big time destination for the Chinese. And I have read in the past when our economy has slowed down that Americans will use a get-away like Vegas to cheer themselves up. My wife and I have gone places like Disneyland after something bad happened for the same reason. Our local economy will probably slow down but will it crash? Probably not. (I hope. )

If it wasn't for the DDO...I wouldn't have bothered with LV anymore. At least I'll make a quick trip up from Laughlin for a day...and play some Video Poker or craps before or after the DDO...then I'll be right back out of there. I like Laughlin and Reno better...they are more like the old downtown Las Vegas...prior to the huge influx of mega-resorts. Easy in&out of airports, too. Less traffic...and the gambling more contained. Also, less of the SoCal weekend inhabitation. Las Vegas kind of outgrew itself for my liking.

This, of course, from a tourist point of view.
