Is Valley Fever a valid reason not to relocate to LV and the surrounding area?

Nah. The girls out at the Bunny Ranch get regular medical checkups.

A pretty rough sickness that's spread with the wind/dust in the desert. It was possible in the high desert in california where we used to live, but I don't know that it's present in Las Vegas. I lived there for nearly 50 years and never knew anyone personally who had contacted it, so not something I'm very much worried about.

I spent part of my childhood in Kern County. It's a disease caused by a fungal spore in the soil that gets kicked up when it's windy. I've only heard of it in the southern San Joaquin valley, and Arizona. Never heard of it in Las Vegas.

I thought I had it here last year and the doctor looked at me like I had two heads when I mentioned it. I don't think they know much about it yet. I think I googled and maybe there was one or two cases documented. I can't see why it wouldn't be here if it's in Arizona, just not on the radar. There is definitely some type of desert allergen that kicks up when the wind is blowing things around.

I'd think Las Vegas throat would be more common. Also, I get cabin fever in the summertime. Too hot to go outside.

Valley fever sounds more like an allergy to me, but you would usually only get the infection once, then you'd be immune to it. Could be what people have when they think they have the flu though. I've been here 52 years and have only heard about it maybe once before.

And, aren't those agriculture areas? The only agriculture here is Gilcrease Orchard.

The best reason not to relocate here is that our quota is full. But, I'm sure you'll come anyway, so welcome to TBCOTA.
