I'm thinking about moving back to Thailand. I lived there for a few years before. Boring??? not if you like good looking women that don't care how old you are.
The women here....I don't need to tell you. You already know.

We're in the same boat. Came to Vegas over 10 years ago "...for a few years." Expecting to be here only about 5 years then moving on. But life gets in the way. We're in a position to really consider a move. This entire summer we tooled around the Pacific Northwest thinking that might be our next home. Nope. Loved the ocean, greenery, etc. But I couldn't get over the lack of constant sunny days. Now looking at Texas or Arizona. Possibly Scottsdale or Austin/San Antonio. I would really like to be a walkable neighborhood. Vegas isn't very walkable in my opinion.

If money were no object, probably Australia or Cape Town South Africa.

I own a condo in Coronado, CA that I inherited from my late father. California income taxes are too high for me as a person who has never been a CA resident. Would love to live in Coronado Shores full time if I could. For me, the state income tax would be over $100,000. I will stick with NV residency.

I'm from Spokane. I hate it and would love to move to LV. Why are you interested in moving here?

Been out for a year, lived there for 8. We thought it would be a fun place to live with heaps of old people and sunshine. Not the case and we will not be back. You're right, it is not boring when you have to drag your mattress out of your rental because you have no tenant's rights and your place of residence is going into foreclosure while the landlord tells you all is fine, or you lived in a once middle class neighborhood only to see drug dealers move in all around you; then you see houses on your street getting auctioned off to slumlords waiting to be loaded up with section 8 transplants.

Lack of ethnic culture, cuisine, history and art; too many 'lifted' trucks on the road -- people fueled with rage racing 80-90 MPH in residential zones. Everyone being forced to live like rats in a cage, HOA's, etc. The whole 'common interest' community thing is something that I always chuckled at. Back east where I came up people did not need to be told or forced to make their properties look presentable in their communities. Common interest all right, slobs with no pride or sense of responsibility.

Having to drive out to Lake Las Vegas (50 minutes) for a decent Italian meal is unacceptable even for a regular suburb. I could go on, and on, and on. Many of you will disagree with me and that is fine. But For the 'burb' lifestyle, the food is all lousy chains outside of the run down strip malls that look like they are most certainly infested with roaches. Even the chains are poorly managed. Will I get hot fries or a stale rock hard burger today?

The humidity thing is relative and I think the lack of any of it in the desert can cause health problems, not to mention the winter can get bitterly cold and in some cases even rival parts of the east where I came up. Don't even get me started on all the non indigenous species of flora that have been introduced to the region, thus allergies through the roof for many people.

Bottom line is we went there, stayed for too long and finally decided to get out before we never did. It was do or die and hands down the best decision we could have made. We moved to Northern California and have since eliminated all the nonsense that came with living in Vegas. Now it is a 50 minute drive to the ocean and not just a decent restaurant.

We left Vegas a few years ago and moved to the suburbs of Austin Tx, to make a long story short we plan on moving back to Vegas soon. We have noticed that housing has jumped quite a bit these last few months in Las Vegas, at the moment we are waiting to see if prices will stabilize, rise, or drop. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or suggestions about the real estate trends for the Las Vegas area?
