Every once in a while you get a view that all of the LV children are not hopeless. One today. The NV performance on AP testing came out as number 14 on the US state list. And it was also the most improved state. Not suggesting this means that NV has climbed out of its education hole. But it does say there are a set of children doing pretty well.

NV of course is vastly damaged by a statistical quirk. It is basically one large and one small city and little else. And large cities with heavy minority populations do poorly everywhere pretty much.

But what this all says is if you got a kid capable of college she or he can actually do well here...

Now if the tax from recreational marijuana is distributed and utilized properly, it will get even better. It's all Nevada has since lottery is banned, which in most states contributes to public education.

Smoke em if you got em.
