Default take a hike

Hi we have been there a few times, once to go camping and it was BLOODY freezing, and the other for a picnic to metal detecting LOL. There is a really nice place to have lunch outdoors and there's a hotel and small ski resort, but there isn't really much going on up there......... it is a fantastic place to go in the summer to cool off though.......... we took the 95 out there and then there are two choices from there but there is a sign that will head you up there......... sorry can't remember the numbers.... good luck and have fun

I love Mt Charleston and in the summer hike up there every weekend. The best way to go is to take 95 past the outskirts of town and then hang a left at the turn off for Mount Charleston. I've hiked to the peak a few times and it can be a day long hike. Right now, there is still some snow up there, but if only as a means to get out of town and see a change in topography and vegitation, its well worth it. During this time of year it is nice to hike up to Mary Jane Falls and get some fresh air.
