Having a direct deposit(DD) is a hassle. So is maintaining a $1500 balance if no DD. Also their DD is always delayed where Navy Federal credits your account 1 day in advance. Foreign transaction fees and cash withdrawal fees at non chase banks is a killer.

How is direct deposit a hassel? NOT having it is a hassle! I almost never need to go to the bank branch. There is also no delay in getting paid. I never have any fees.

1. They require a min DD of $500 per month or $1500 min balance to waive their monthly service fee. I have several DDs per month. Unless you plan to make Chase your primary bank, it is a hassle. I use Ally Bank for my savings account and Navy Federal for all my checking and bill pay. Don't have to worry about any service fees. 2. My DD with Chase was delayed up to 2 days compared to Navy Federal DD. Just my personal experience.
