Encountering people who REALLY don't want to be there and behave rudely. I almost feel like saying: "hey, what's your ****ing problem? are you too good for this job?" That's what a really tight labor market does, doesn't it? Managers are forced to hire anyone who breathes for min wage positions, huh?

I think in Vegas at least you get alot of transplants who accept the first position they are offered so they are generating some income while they search for a position they actually WANT and they don't invest much effort into what they consider a temporary position. It's hard to managers/employers/clients and everyone else. We have a couple departments at my work that are a near constant stream of people coming and going. People find better pay or more hours and move on.

what sucks is that complaining to manageers won't change anything. the managers are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I guess the only thing a consumer can do is switch to business who still somehow managed to retain friendly customer-facing employees.

I have also seen these low wage workers being treated like scum by customers and "other" riff raff who drift into their stores. No one should be so quick to judge. Try standing on your feet for 8 hours and getting abused constantly and you might have a different attitude. Constantly rushing with rampant under staffing. I did fast food back in 87 and 90 and even at 16 and 19 I was exhausted after work. Burns and blisters were commonplace. Not to mention the constant sweating and sucking in fumes all day. And don't even get me started on doing dishes in a fast food restaurant when breakfast switched to lunch. I was paid 3.35 an hour in 1987 and 3.80 an hour in 1990.

I am thankful every day that I can plant my narrow white ass in front of a computer six days a week and let my brain earn the money.

I agree 100%

I was paid 2.65 an hour in 1984

I think the biggest problem is the gap is widening between the haves and have nots.....
