Many of you know me. I am cleaning shop and selling everything related to woodworking. I will be starting again.....dont worry, just in another place.

I wish to donate some very expensive wood to a local High School Woodshop or a Trade School who has a Woodshop class. I have no kids so am not the slightest familiar with any schools. I do know that many High Schools have done away with shops in favor of teaching more useless things. That is ashamed.

Since I got my start in a High School Woodshop and perfected my skills to become a gifted artisan with museum quality pieces some 35 years later I want to give back.

Can anyone familiar with the local schools here give me the names and contact of schools that might be interested?

I have about $10,000 value in fine hardwoods in various stock board lengths and sizes. I know when I was in school I had to learn on cheap junky white pine board. I have all this extra premium hardwoods (oak, hickory, maple and cherry) that I wish to give away and help kids with the same dream I had when I built my first project and won the PTA student project of the year back in the 70s. Any kid learning the trade would wish upon a star to have access to this fine product to learn on as opposed to pine.

Thanks for the help !!
Las Vegas schools only.

I believe all CCSD high schools offer woodworking and cabinetry classes as part of their Architecture and Construction program. It sounds like you are making a very generous donation that will make some teachers and kids very happy.
