nope definitely not boring. this is actually one of the preferred zip codes in las vegas. mostly anyone living in vegas DOES NOT live on the strip. we are all in the outlying areas. you may think it's "nowhere" now but believe me...with the growth this city sees it won't be "nowhere" for long.

Well that is pretty much central north Summerlin. Library, Vons, Summerlin Swimming pool and park, Post Office, Light commercial.

No ultra lounges though.

A little boring, but safe and quiet. You really can't have both.

I live in the area and love it. Summerlin isn't like the strip or anything, but there is plenty of day-to-day activity.

Less than a minute up the road is a neighborhood called the Trails. The Trails has a lot of really nice jogging paths, a number of restaurants, a library, a giant 24 Hour Fitness, an outdoor Starbucks, a community pool, a fairly large park, chain stores, etc.

But also keep in mind that residential Las Vegas has minimal traffic, so getting to other areas is a breeze. You'll be only a short drive away from Boca Park and Summerlin Centre (the major shopping areas in Summerlin), and there are plenty of bars scattered around locally (you don't have to go downtown). Then in terms of outdoor recreation, if jogging gets boring, you can always try Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston. Even stuff downtown and in Henderson isn't more than a half hour drive.

The best bars are downtown though.

Ahh yes. Remember when the DDO was talked into going to Hogs and Heifers. I did not even know you could do that on a public bar...

I used to live right around the corner from Summerlin..Basically lived there.........BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REd rock canyon is right there. It is breathtaking...and you can breathe better too!!
The closer you get to Vegas, the more smoggy it gets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is crime ridden too in LV

The suburban residential areas are better suited for living than areas closer to downtown, true. The crime is lower and the homes tend to be nicer. My only correction to make is that, Summerlin, although a suburb, technically is still Las Vegas.

I also agree that the Summerlin area is beautiful. Very manicured and well-maintained. It's definitely not the middle of nowhere.

Your question has been answered, but I'll add my two cents...that's one of the best areas of town.
