The area immediately west of the strip around Industrial Rd, like here. Is there a name for it?

Walked around here a bit on a recent trip, after I was going to go to Smash Me Baby (vegan fast food) but noticed it was takeout-only, and kind of wanted to dine in somewhere. Seems like it'd have potential for development, with such close access to nightlife.

That's the Taint.....Taint the strip, Taint downtown...also a pretty sketchy place surrounding all of the weekly rental places. Really anyplace near the Strat is a bit...interesting?

Naked City is bordered by Sahara, LV Blvd, Industrial and Wyoming. Taint also works as does "No way am I walking around there after dark!"

Here is a pretty good article on the area. You are only about 50-70 years to late for it to be a nice area.

I'm a life long NYer who just spend a few days exploring every inch of Vegas and the burbs for a potential move. This area is the gutter, and that's coming from me, a NYer. So think about that.

Interesting, the whole time I lived there I thought Naked City was just West of the strip - where Naked City Pizza was....but according to Wikipedia it is exactly where OP is talking about. North end of strip, near Stratosphere...who knew.

Everyone who has lived in Vegas for 6 months or longer knows where Naked City is. It's got a reputation to uphold after all.

Near there is where all the taxis get dispatched so there are some businesses that cater to the cab drivers and some other folks. Also a Strip club zone although I think a lot of them closed down. The original Rollin Smoke is around there, good BBQ. Otherwise some repair shops and a place where I took TVs to be recycled back in the day. That's pretty much the character of the area.

I remember there used to be the famous Sporting House on Industrial behind the Stardust. Where all the gangsters went until the mid 80s i was told. I went in the late 90s and it was just politicians and old money in Mercedes and BMWs despite the neighborhood being rough.
