Las Vegas ranked #7. I can totally agree with this on the strip, but that is about it. They are very good otherwise at taking care of the neighborhoods IMO.

Las Vegas ranks 7 on dirty city list - KTNV ABC,Channel 13,Las Vegas,Nevada,News,Weather,Sports,Entertainment,KTN V.com,Action News .:. (http://www.ktnv.com/story/14905499/las-vegas-ranks-7-on-dirty-city - broken link)

It's all those female escort cards that the snappers throw at everyone and that then land on the ground!

Something is wrong with that article as well.

I can't help but think the journalist walked down the strip at 3am and came to that conclusion.

The rest of the city is very car-oriented. You just don't see much anywhere else. I use to walk all over Las Vegas...miles and miles at a time. Taking buses to get back and such. There are so few pedestrians once you get off the strip.

It was only the tourist areas that you'd see litter and such around. Most of Vegas has that clean brand spanking new feel everywhere. At least it seemed to me by recall.

But you go to Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, St. Louis, and a whole hoste of other cities, and driving around, you'll see trash all over the place everywhere.

Generally most West Coast cities have little trash, and I certainly associate Vegas as a typical cleaner West Coast type of city.

I can believe it. Most of the time I walk through any of the parks there's beer bottles and other trash laying within a few feet of the dozens of trash barrels. People are clearly frustrated with the city and their circumstances and seem to not care.

We've been through this before, but I can state with certainty that compared to New York City, Baltimore, and Atlantic City (for example), Las Vegas is spotless.
At this time of year most of New York City smells like urine.

Yes, but the east coast cities you named all have histories that are measured in centuries, vs. Las Vegas' history, mentioned in decades.

These cities and many others have a large percentage of vacant buildings, yes there is way too much trash in these cities, but the larger metro areas are much cleaner. Does the article mean the cities or metro areas?

"Travel and Leisure" magazine ranks las vegas number 7 for filth.
People on this site are always being told to provide a link to the quotes. The site for a TV station should know better than to not provide a link. I am sure there are many parts to what makes a "dirtest city", but we don't know what they are.

Would it not be weird if Vegas was voted one of the cleanest cities?
