When I was looking for housing here, I checked out a place that was on LVBS that was guard gated. It's a condo complex, but many units are rented out by the owners. I found the listings on Craigslist for a couple of different units. It doesn't have "strip views" per se... I mean, you aren't going to be looking across the street at the Bellagio.... this place is very far south. But the freeway entrance is nearby, and it would be a pretty easy commute to UNLV.

In the end, I ended up living at Aviata temporarily until I moved to a house in the 89104. Aviata is not bad either, but that is definitely a place where the gate means nothing. It didn't even work the first month or so I lived there! I was very concerned about safety when I first moved here (Aviata also has alarm systems in the apartments)... but now I am quite comfortable in a neighborhood that a lot of people on this forum consider to be dangerous/scary.

As people will tell you - anything can happen anywhere here.

I own a townhouse in Belle Esprit near Las Vegas Blvd and Silverado Ranch. Seems pretty safe, but feels like it could turn sketchy at any time. I think there are several rentals in there too if you are looking to rent a townhouse.

If you are in Huntridge or there abouts I do not consider it scarey. I would however avoid the arterials after dark. Normal urban area precautions.

Default Vegas is confusing

Ok so now that I've looked into many of the suggestions I've gotten on this thread it has occured to me there's a difference btwn an apartment and a high rise luxury tower place...

I had no idea that high rise luxury tower places even existed haha.

i can probably find a place that isnt too expensive ive called several high rise tower luxury places and their least expensive rooms are not THAT much more than a nice apt

its possible you are talking about Sedona on the Boulevard, LVBS/Pebble, it is now guard gated and has been for about a year, although they are conversions from Camden apartments...
