I have some friends coming into town in September and they want to go to the best prime rib joint and Steakhouse OFF the Strip that the Vegas Valley has to offer.

Alright locals, give me your best recommendations!!!

Bob Taylor's aint bad. Got their act together the last year after thinking they could get strip prices for marginal meat. But the last time out the boss was most happy and I thought the filet was up there with the good guys.

We also use Flemings when we don't want to go to the strip. Not as good as top strip but no one is and you don't have to pledge your car title for the meal.

I love Prime Rib, but there is one thing better that might interest your friends especially if they have never experienced it before and that would be to take them to a Churrascaria restaurant, aka Brazilian Steakhouse. It is a carnivore's wet dream!

And when it comes to Churrascaria's in Las Vegas, or anywhere that I have eaten at one for that matter, I don't think that there is any beating Texas De Brazil.

Agreed on Brazilian steakhouses. Via Brasil in Summerlin is quite good. But they don't do Prime Rib. None of the Brazilian steakhouses do.

I haven't been in a few years, but Binion's Ranch Steakhouse has the least expensive USDA Prime prime rib and steaks of any LV restaurant. Nice view, too. I keep meaning to get back there.

My one question is, why is "off the strip" so important?

Austin Steakhouse at the Texas Station Casino. Venture down to North Las Vegas. We are not as unfriendly as the internet would have you believe. Ask for the "Austin" salad which is no loner on the menu, but they will still make it for you, and ask for the cilantro / garlic butter that they typically serve with a porterhouse with your steak. It's delicious.

I'm with lvoc; I'd take them to Bob Taylor's Ranch House Supper Club if for no other reason than the atmosphere. Bob Taylor's orginial Ranch House

If downtown is ok, I'd go to Vic and Anthony's at the Golden Nugget.

I haven't been. And recent reviews haven't exactly been glowing. Has anyone been here lately?

anyone say Lawry's just of the strip on Flamingo Rd?

Not sure if they have prime rib but the new Fogo De Chao near Lawry's is an excellent Brazilian steakhouse with all you can eat meat and salad. Their lunch is better priced and is the same as the more expensive dinner.

we live in the NW and have been to bob's ranch house a few times. the steak dinners generally run from the mid 20's to low 40's depending on the cut and size. 24oz bone in rib-eye is 42.99 I think. includes sides/salad. steaks are decent but not the best I've ever had. haven't tried the prime rib.
