Do I need to put oil on my oak tables? Someone told me that living in Las Vegas I would need to. If so can someone tell me what I would use.

Yes.

Cleaning 4 times per year with Murphys Soap will help. Follow that with an application of Linseed Oil (also known as Flaxseed Oil). An alternative is Lemon Oil. Not the household dusters like Pledge etc, they have harmful chemicals. Alternating Linseed and Lemon Oils will help somewhat like alternating hair conditioners, different properties will have a chance to soak into the wood. On the table, not your head. Any dry climate will dry your wood furniture, even if you use humidifiers.

I use Scotts Liquid Gold (spray can) on all my furniture and kitchen/bathroom cabinets about once a month.

Keeps the wood oiled, shiny, dust/fingerprint resistant and looking beautiful. I know most Smith's carry it (about $6.00 a can) and Home Depot and Lowe's has it.

Has a strong lemony-oil odor for an hour or so after use...until your furniture drinks it up...

In between I just dust weekly.

The oak furniture stores sell a product for that which smells like oranges. I suppose it's made from oranges, but it works well.
