panorama towers and if you do play poker there are plenty there that do. BTW you're not walking to any clubs from where you'll be staying and any brawds leaving with you are going to have to jump in a car/cab/limo.

You may even be able to get them to your house faster living a few miles off strip. On a Saturday it's like 30 mins from Mandalay to Stratosphere. I can get to my house 3 miles from the strip in under 10 minutes and I Pay about the same I'd pay for a 2bd at a strip condo. The difference is I have a 4000 sq ft new house that is nicer than all but the penthouse condos.

Dont dismiss off strip so quick, take a look first.

Good luck

Ideal setup: A place in the heart of the strip, giving me proximity to several casinos (I'm not a gambler but i will go clubbing often) Not too expensive because I don't want to spend all of what I make.

What do you guys suggest?
Hey There,

I lived in Vegas 2006-2008 and loved it. I am planning on going back later in the year because I have a job transfer lined up. I was curious if you were able to settle into a high rise in Vegas? What do you do making 6k at home? I was making about the same amount of money when I lived there and could tell you about my living experience. I'm 28 now, but I was about 25 living in the town.

I am currently looking to rent and later purchase a high rise condo in Vegas.

Thanks
James

I might be interested in that area. Is there any special "name" for it so I could do some research?

How would you personally describe the area?

Thanks!

Also, just showing a local(Nevada) ID goes a long way in some of the clubs, along with a military ID...

I used to go to Tao, Ghostbar and Moon 2-3 times a month. I rarely ever spent that kind of money. I would spend between $40-$100. This would also include entry fee and drinking. I tend to collect club promotor business cards which has worked out in my benefit. I would suggest to anyone that plans on clubbing on the regular to get to know a club promotor or two. A table with bottle service can be acquired for half the price on the "right" night if you know who to ask.

No club on the strip requires hundreds of dollars to have a good time. Just for table/bottle service. Meaning that you will be standing all night, unless you get to know someone already in VIP. Entrance fee for all clubs on the strip for men are no more than $60(Special night) to $20(average night). Some of those exclusive clubs even let locals and military in for free if you go pretty early.

Of course this excludes New Years Eve, Fight nights, All Star game...etc. Entrace fees can reach up to $1000.

Online business though the income is fluctuating more than expected. Current plans are more conservative - just buy a cheap house in cash (I don't have enough history to get a loan) Maybe do the condo things in a few years after I'm more stable. I'd hate to go the opposite way and really regret it later.

You don't really live "on the strip"... you choose condos that are walking distance to the East of the Strip. Use Google Maps Satellite Feature to check out the Geography from above. Do this with each property you come across... then you will know if it's easy walking distance to the places you think you want to go in the evenings.

Yes you can live right on The Strip. Check out Sky Las Vegas-it's a dream come true for a poker player, nightlife lover, etc.
