I've been reading this interesting forum, after being told that c-d.com members provide valuable insight to relocating. I hope the same occurs for me here, in moving to the metro-LV area soon.

I live in Vail CO right now. And I'm taking a job offered to me in Henderson NV...89015 zip area.

Does that zip have (+) or (-) crime rate? And how is it gauged, for finding an apt. and to buy property eventually?

Or, is there some better area I should consider?

I thank you guys, in advance, for all replies.

I can't help you with your question as I, myself, am just moving to Vegas this month. But I did want to take the opportunity to welcome you to the L.V. forum & to L.V. itself.

Wow, thats like trading in your Ferrari for a Ford Pinto! Haha, I live in Henderson and have been to Vail; it would'nt be my first choice for a move, but truth be told Henderson is definitely one of the better areas of LV; just realize the lifestyle, culture, and communities of the two are very different

i also wouldn't call vegas or henderson a ford pinto... vail would be the 4wd escalade and vegas would be the lincoln town car.

I used to live in that zip code right behind the Albertsons on Lake Mead PKW and Boulder Highway. It is an older neighborhood and definitely the lowest end of Henderson. However, I never felt unsafe nor did I have any problems with crime.

Maybe she hates the severely cold weather like I do. I certainly would much rather live in Las Vegas than there.

thank you for this here, lvd, it could be useful for making my determination...I've been viewing the satellite/google maps to see the actual demographic and try to gauge some reasonability of the area for living peacefully...I can't tell much, so a msg. like yours becomes very powerful.
