I had the home inspection this morning on the house I'm buying in Summerlin as a short sale. Everything went well except for a couple of electrical issues, which the inspector thinks probably are minor but could potentially be more serious. I've decided to try to arrange an electrical inspection this week with someone who is a licensed electrician and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a reliable and reasonably priced one with whom you've done business.

I recommend signing up for Angies List (
Doctor Reviews & Contractors Ratings - Find a Doctor or General Contractor ). That's how I've found most of the contractors I needed. It costs $20/year to subscribe, but you get a lot of reviews of all different types of service providers. There's also a free site called, I believe, Service Magic. I believe contractors sign up with them and probably pay a subscription fee. However, there are personal reviews as well. So, if you don't find any personal recommendations, these sites can help.

I had my electric replaced and updated as well as having a lot of the house rewired. I used Dave's Electric and they were easy to work with and easy on the wallet compared to the others I contacted. They even cleaned up their own mess.
