I know there are quite a few people on here from Texas. So I figured you guys would have the best route. What is the quickest route from Las Vegas to Dallas, Texas area. We have to make a quick trip for family, and we want to be able to spend as much time with them as possible.

Also, are there any places along the way that we should not miss, example restaurants that the best of something or different tourist things that will be a good quick stop for us to stretch our legs!

Thank You in advance to your responses!
Wendy

I know how to do that, thanks! Just checking to see if there are any shortcuts that are not shown on the regular routes and GPS!

Default Dallas to Phoenix to Vegas

Six of one etc.... Driving Directions from Dallas, Texas to Phoenix, Arizona

Don't know of any shortcuts. If there are any I bet they're mostly in Texas.

I will tell you to avoid the Hoover Dam. It has added 1-2 hours to our trips between here and AZ. Last time took the longer route and it ended up being much shorter.

US-95 S to NV 163 E to AZ 68 E to US 93 S to I-40 E

Now, I haven't driven to Texas, but my Mom did. She dislikes major interstates with all the trucks, etc... She will only drive 5 mph over the speed limit and won't go faster than 75 mph no matter what the speed limit is.

She took I-40 E to Holbrook, AZ, then proceeded on US 180 E to US 60 E into NM to US-380 E through Roswell, NM into Texas. She says it was a leisure drive through the middle of nowhere with no clue of how long it too her. Plus she doesn't remember how long she stayed on the 380 towards Dallas. Our relatives live in Arlington and she knows she took I-20 E into the Fort Worth area towards Arlington.

Don't know if that was any help at all. Sorry.

I recently made the drive. Though I took the southern route as I didn't want to risk snow. I took I-10 through Phoenix then on my way.
