Forming a new office in the US (uscis)

Hi!
I'm Spanish, and have a translation company in Spain. I've formed it over 10 years ago. It has 2 employees. We have clients all over the world. I plan to open a new office in the US (probably in CA).
I'd like to ask some questions.
1. I've read that I should get a visa L1-A, shouldn't I?
2. How long do I have to be in the US to start the immigrantion proccess EB-1? Or could I start it immediately after I get to the us?
