I'm from Romania but now living in Spain and I have thought about emigrating to the United States. But I have a problem, the problem is that the studies I'm doing I do not know if they are compatible with alli. Because the only way to enter the United States is through the green card lottery. I've looked at some forums that according to US studies are my undergraduate studies. But here in Spain is called: spanish(GRADO MEDIO) english(Intermediate Level)and you can work after 2 years of study and 3 months of practice.
I accept the embassy? Help please!
surse: google.traslate

sorry--my english is verry low =(

I think what you're saying is you want to come to the US on a student visa. I don't think you have to have had any prior coursework before coming to the US as a student. So, I don't think it matters what your previous classes were. Some may not transfer, but if your goal is to come as a student, I am guessing that you won't really care if some classes transfer or not, and you have to take them again here.

Contact the international student department of the university you'd like to attend. Here's an example. This is a private university. I used to rent apartments to students who went to this university.

Santa Clara University - Student Life -International Student Services

Good luck!

In Spain there are different kind of study, I want to participate in the annual lottery that the US state does. And if you win the lottery you get the card, but for the embassy you need to accept a few studies. I do not know if you know this type of study lasting two years, is a graduate and then practice in a company. Here's official information.

The link above is for something that only requires a high school education. It sounds like you are talking about some type of graduate program and internship. I don't know anything about this stuff.

I will defer to someone who can answer your question. I was going to say you should post this in the immigration forum and not in the California forum, but it looks like the moderator moved it. You should get some good help here.

Good luck to you!

Thank you very much for answering. The theme of the lottery is very difficult, and asking to have 12 years of equivalent studies in the US, in Spain do not know how many are. So I need help from someone to see if I will be admitted when I do the interview.

If you are already a college student then you are eligible to apply for the DV lottery. The basic educational requirement is the equivalent of a US high school graduation. You'll find the information you need to apply right here:

Confirm Your Qualifications

If you applied and weren't eligible, you wouldn't even be asked to come for an interview. Good luck!

a) You do not win a Green Card but an application for a Green card
b) Education requirements are 12 years of primary education or the equivalent

Unfortunately I cannot figure out your posts.

If he goes to the USCIS link I posted, I think his understanding of the process may become a little clearer - which is I think the underlying reason his posts are confusing.

Ten years ago I immigrated to the US. Your best help comes from specific immigration forums. The people on there have been life savers for me. Just do a google search and post your comment there. There are also specific ones in Spanish. You will get better answers for your specific issue there.
Good luck!

While it is correct that the equivalent of a US high school diploma is the required education requirement, I just wanted to point out that it is not correct that someone lacking that would not be invited to interview. The DV forums have plenty of people who were denied at interview for not meeting basic eligibility requirements. Lottery selectees are invited to fill in a DS260, application for immigrant visa. Anyone who has filled this in and submitted it and whose number is current is invited for interview. KCC do not make determinations on eligibility, oniy a consular officer can do that, so no application is rejected on these bases before interview, though KCC will flag files that look like they have obvious problems (as well as ones where the background check raises issues, etc). In any case, as there is a work experience alternative (quite hard to meet for most non-high school graduates but not impossible), applications could not be automatically rejected just because they do not have a high school education.
