I'm not sure that this is the right forum, but I can barely find any information on this weird phenomena. At the Mountainville Shopping Center in South Allentown, there are 30-60 seagulls in the empty portion of the Kmart parking lot at anytime if the weather is over 40 degrees or so. Does anyone have any experiences with the flock? Why did they decide to stay in the parking lot (my theory is food given to them from the McDonalds)?

Trout Creek and the associated park is sort of behind the Kmart and across the railroad tracks. Perhaps they do come over for food. There is also a newer townhouse development behind there with a large basin, perhaps they are attracted to that as well. Otherwise I have no clue.

They've become town and inland birds. If there's some water and some french fries in the fast food parking lot, they'll stay. They probably got blown in by a storm. No reason to go back. Do they know how to get back?
