My wife and I will be staying in LR for a wedding and we gave ourselves a day to spend in the city. It will be just my wife and I and we enjoy various cuisines. Searching online, I found a few places which seemed poplar.

I was thinking of having a meal at a couple of these places:
Ashley's at the Capital
Whole Hog Cafe
Brave New Restaurant

Does anyone have any opinions of these restaurants? Any other recommendations? Anything unique to Little Rock?

Thanks!

DEFINITELY Ashley's. I prefer Sim's to Whole Hog, but that's a personal BBQ preference. Brave New Restaurant is good and has a nice river view. A few other suggestions:

Lulav (elegant brunch)
B-Side (hearty brunch)
Ristorante Capeo (Italian, romantic ambience)
Doe's (steaks, tamales, dive/politico ambience)
Ciao Baci (cocktails)
Acadia (Hillcrest people-watching)
Maddie's or Faded Rose (lively Creole/Cajun)
Vieux Carre (romantic Creole/French)
Cafe Bossa Nova (Brazilian)
Oyster Bar (hole-in-the-wall seafood)
ZaZa (pizza, salad, gelato)
The Root (homegrown/local sandwiches and soups and best burger in town)

I second these. I also want to add Cafe Prego to the list. Its a great Italian restaurant, the best I had while in Little Rock. Fantastic China is also great and Crazy Hibachi in North Little Rock was probably my favorite sushi in the area.

Thanks to all the recommendations. We had a great time in LR. Stayed at the DoubleTree downtown. Nice location where we were able to walk to a lot of places.

As for restaurants, we visited Whole Hog AND Sim's. Preferred Whole Hog, but both were delicious. Sim's gave us way more food than we had expected. Had to loosen the belt a couple notches after that visit.

Also had brunch at B-Side. It was farther than I had expected but well worth the drive. I ordered the beignets and eggs benedict. Food was delicious and satisfying. Staff was friendly as well.

Paid quick visits to Brown Sugar Bakery and Wasabi Sushi as well.

Thanks for the love LR. Hope to visit again soon!
