My husband and I are looking into this area. Is it anything like West Islip? I keep reading posts on here that the area is racist and I don't want to live in an area like that. We don't have children yet, but when we do, we plan on sending our children to private school. We are looking for a friendly area, safe, stuff for families to do, not too too far from major highways and stores within walking/driving distance.

Default In case you are unfamiliar with the local geography

Spring10, in case you are unfamiliar with the local geography, I've sent you an explanation of the very, very confusing geography of "Lawn Guyland" as a DM (Direct Message).

West Islip isn't racist- just has mostly white people living in it.
