if you were going to leave your own area to go trick or treating, what would be the best place to go? a place with alot of trick or treaters and kids all over the place.

my area is good but i feel like nobody is ever out with us walking the streets. it's kinda lonely

Why don't you try an area like Northport village where all the stores give out candy. The place is a madhouse. Maybe a town near you does the same.

I recently moved to the Northport area and on a given weekend this summer, the village was packed. I cannot imagine what it would be like on Halloween. I have heard a few people mention Northport as a good spot to trick or treat but cannot support the claims.

When I lived in Garden City people would come by the van load, it was ridiculous. Flat streets, small plots - a house-to-house walker's dream!!!

Old Harbor Green in Massapequa. They give out the full size candy bars in some houses!!! I remember growing up in Hicksville and when we found a good house we would hit it multiple times. I have family in OHG and that is a beautiful, nice area to go - though at night there are packs of shaving cream covered kids. Very fun!

Huntington Village does the same thing. There is a small Halloween Parade that I think starts at 3 leaving from the Post Office (parade of kids and parents), then the sidewalks are full of kids trick or treating store to store.

Most merchants in Cold Spring Harbor do this as well

So you can work your way East, starting in CSH, go to downtown Huntington and on to Northport (or vice versa...)

Depends on what your looking for.
Real good candy and treats
or safty.
I'd say East Islip area is very safe and many homes give quality treats. . And there are a few haunted yards to enjoy.
