Long Beach? Fits all most of your your criteria..but the train commute is probably the same as Huntington unless you take the Atlantic Bridge to five towns. They dont have a jogging train but the boardwalk should suffice.

She wont have a car so atl bridge isn't an option. And yes the train ride is an hour.
IMO, for a single, she is too old for the LB scene. I'm single in the sense that I'm not married...and I'm 29 and outgrew the LB scene 3 years ago.
Thank you all for all of the responses! It looks like Great Neck it is then - although I will def check out the Bay Terrace area of Bayside, I hadn't been there.

Please bear in mind that Great Neck is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where the majority of the places with the community name as part of their mailing address (6,022 acres) are not in the village (866 acres).
Places that have a "Great Neck, NY 11020 through 11024" mailing address that are not in the Village of Great Neck are in the Village of Great Neck Estates, the Hamlet of Great Neck Gardens, the Village of Great Neck Plaza, the Hamlet of Harbor Hills, the Village of Kensington, the Village of Kings Point, the Village of Lake Success, the Village of Russell Gardens, the Village of Saddle Rock, the Hamlet of Saddle Rock Estates, the Village of Thomaston and the Hamlet of University Gardens.
The area around the LIRR station is in Great Neck Plaza ("Great Neck, NY 11021" mailing address).

Veronica95: if you have not chosen a place yet...great neck plaza is the best choice! i have been in the same situation, looked at all the nice areas in & around li & queens....and in the end, great neck plaza was the top pick..30 minute train ride to manhattan, village with shops, restaurants, parks, can walk & run everywhere, very clean & safe, lots of trees & grass, no car needed, good mix of age groups young younger..if you are still looking, i'm renting my studio apt now & it's a 5 minute run to everything, literally.
