I'm around patchogue area and looking into joining some clubs/events but unsure where to look. Ideally, I'd like to meet people around me age because its lonely only having older friends.
You must not go out much. I am 29. i go to the brickhouse in patchogue village and see people my age all the time. I also see them in other establishments in patchogue village. You can also try the hamptons or fire island.
There are 3 bars that I'm aware of in Patchogue village where the crowd ranges from early 20's and up, the Brickhouse being one. There are also the bars in Smithtown that have a similar crowd.
If you want to hang out around only 20 somethings, you are living in the wrong area.

Where would the "Right" area be to hang out with 20-somethings?
Patchogue has a median age of 67 or something?

By area I meant Long Island. If someone gets turned off by seeing 50 year old bikers at bars, then they are in for some dissapointment living here, and should consider moving to Williamsburg.

Wow, what an odd generalization. LI as a whole has little to offer those in their 20's?
It's more likely you got old and can not offer any info regarding the hip places to hang out. If the bars you frequent are filled with 50 yr old bikers, I assume this is just your choice of hangout (Not that there's anything wrong with this). It's not a reflection of all of LI though.
To the op, I would suggest looking elsewhere for your info. CD is full of an older, out of touch demographic that complains about taxes and leaf bags. There isn't a whole lot of hipness here despite the image these old farts try to convey.

Right that's why I know about the bars in Patchogue.
Someone mentioned the Brickhouse, yes, the last time I was there the crowd was mostly 20 somethings, but there were also a few people in their 50's. You may be a bit out of touch with the young'uns, but to some of them that alone makes the place a no-go. I think it's silly, but if the only want to be around young 20's hipsters, this is not the place to be.
Well, in the summertime every Friday in Patchogue they have that Live at 5 Happy hour event where they close down the streets.....thats pretty fun, and there is a lot of young people there....there is also the Brickhouse bar that someone mentioned....
As far as places to go out in other areas somewhat near Patchogue....you can try the bars/areas in Port Jefferson (near the ferry), Smithtown, and there is also a bar/lounge called "Blue" in blue point that i have heard a lot about....
