Hi, I am looking to reloc from Florida to Long Island. Can anyone give me some advice - are people friendly and accepting? What areas would be a good place to live for a single female in my 30's? Any help is really appreciated! Thanks.

Where will you be working and what's your budget?

Although looking at your post history, where you stated a week ago you grew up in East Meadow and now live in Babylon, and on the same day posted you live in FL but want to move to Chicago, this post is a little confusing.

To answer your questions...."no" and "plenty of good places, but can you afford them?"

So what's your criteria?

Price Range?
Demographic preference? (diverse, homogenous, etc)
Location preference? (near LIRR stop/NYC, close to beach, nightlife, shopping, etc)
Does it matter if it's a newer community, historic one or a mix?
You say you're single, do you plan on having kids? If so, then the school district could be of huge importance to you.

Please elaborate so we can give you better suggestions as to where we think you will be most satisfied.

I am laughing at this. We just came back from spending five days in Naples/Marco Island. There....spotless,friendly,polite,slower paced and beautiful weather. Here..............fill in the blanks.

Lived in FL for 12 years. It's a great place to visit but trust me, it's got it's own set of problems. Im so glad I got out of there!
